An
original postcard of the SS George Anson
In January 2010, I
received an email from Jennie Anson, who wrote:
“I have been cleaning
out cupboards and came across some memorabilia relating to SS George Anson. My
husband Scott George Anson is a descendent of Anson’s and these items are
his for around 30 years ago a close friend of his mother gave her these items
to her, as they had belonged to her mother who had been a passenger on the
George Anson in 1965. As a result we have some twelve Menus, one Passenger
List and a Post Card of the ship.”
On this page you will
find one of these menus as well as the postcard above and the passenger list
located at the bottom of the page. I am most grateful to Mr. Scott George Anson
for allowing me to use these items online, and I am sure that they will be
greatly enjoyed by many who sailed on the George Anson and her sister Francis
Drake as well as those who simply admired these ships!
Thank you Jennie and
Scott George Anson!
